Rules for working with a transparent stamp for stamping
In general, using a transparent stamp for stamping is absolutely not difficult and even much easier than for example rubber or sticky silicone stamps. One has only to adhere to certain principles.
1. Don't press hard
If you press hard with a stamp on the plate, paint partially pushed out of the engraving, and the design will be bald.
When transferring the design from the plate to the stamp, use a light roll (no pressure).
When transferring from a stamp - onto a nail, use pressure with a little more indentation in the area of the side rollers, but do not overdo it with pressure so as not to distort the drawing.
2. Work fast
The basic principle of working with any silicone stamping stamp is maximum speed. Silicone absorbs a little less paint from the plate than rubber, and therefore the paint dries faster. If you aim for a long time and try on the drawing, then it will simply dry on the stamp and will not be imprinted on the nail. Therefore, we recommend that you practice and work out, first of all, the speed of movements on paper.
The engraving of the plate is of great importance. If the drawing is dense and the engraving is deep, you can hold it on the stamp a little longer.
If the engraving is not deep or consists of thin lines, you should work very quickly and spend no more than 3-5 seconds on each movement.
3. Clean with adhesive tape
The silicone pad of the transparent stamping stamp has an enhanced ability to attract dust and small particles. Therefore, you should not clean the Crystal Clear Jelly Stamper with cotton pads or wipes - because. they leave lint.
It is recommended to clean the stamp pad on the sticky side of tape or a clothes cleaning roller. This is not only the most efficient, but also a very convenient method of stamp cleaning. And also - a significant savings in WSL.)
For ease of use, just unwind a little adhesive tape and, bending the sticky edge, fix the strip on the roll.
In addition, the manufacturer of the transparent stamping stamp claims that transparent silicone can become cloudy when exposed to acetone-containing GLSL for a long time. So it's not worth the risk.
4. Use thinner stamping inks
Some clear stamp owners have found that in some cases the stamp behaves differently depending on the stamping inks.
If you are having difficulty working with a clear stamp and Conad or El Corazon Kaleidoscope varnishes, it is recommended to dilute the varnish with a small amount WGSL (no oils or additives).
5. The stamp is not filed / not buffed
This is a rule for those who hold a perfectly working transparent stamping stamp in their hands. And these, in general, are 90%. If everything works, then in no case should you file the pad with a nail file or buff, by analogy with other silicone stamps. Washing down the pillow will only make it cloudy and lose its transparency.
< br>If all the above methods do not help, and you can't make friends with a transparent stamp, then your stamp has too dense a glossy finish. In this case, still try to lightly file the pillow with a buff. But do not overdo it (the pad is fragile) - 4-5 light movements in one direction are enough. Then clean it up with tape.
